Eat For Any Life Style
October 13, 2006 1:00 am About NutritionYou have your nutrition goals, and you know what you’re supposed to do to reach them. But how do you make it all work in the real world? Try these suggestions: lf you eat out often, choose your restaurants wisely.
Middle Eastern and Italian, for example, are good choices if you order carefully. Look for fresh ingredients, lightly cooked, with little sauce. If you’re single, take the time to cook a fresh casserole and freeze individual servings. You’ll waste less time in fast-food lines, consume less fat and salt, and get more fiber.
If you travel frequently, take along a homemade sandwich and fresh fruit whenever you can. Airline food is highly processed and loaded with fat, sugar, and salt.
If you’re on a budget, here’s good news. The foods that are most nutritious:starches, whole grains, fresh vegetables. are least expensive. lt’s the processed foods that boost your bill.
If you’re too busy to eat. Wait a minute! No one’s too busy to eat. Try quick foods’ like toast, a bean taco, or a fruit smoothie. Skipping meals drains your energy and concentration.
