Human teeth show a marked similarity to those of herbivorous animals. Man possesses all the features of a strictly herbivorous animal. This gives us a clue as to the natural diet of man. Physiologists have also observed that man has an interlined tract similar to herbivores.
In addition, scientists have discovered that the lipoproteins in human blood resemble those found in the blood of herbivores. Knot Kirkeby writes, “Groups of herbivorous animals revealed a considerably lower ratio of alpha to beta lipoproteins than did some carnivorous or omnivorous animals. Man resembles the herbivorous animals in this respect.”–”Blood Lipids, Lipoproteins and Proteins in Vegetarians,” Acta MedicaScandinavica, Supplementurn 443 19661. p. 7.
Many medical scientists thus conclude that man is naturally an herbivore, a position that harmonizes with the Biblical account of man’s original diet. The Bible declares that God told the original members of the human race, “I give you all plants that bear seed everywhere on earth, and every tree bearing fruit which yields seed: they shall be yours for food.” Genesis 129, N.E.B.
